Individual and Group Psychotherapy with Adults

I offer individual and group psychotherapy with adults that is trauma-informed, healing-centered, strength-based, and solution-focused.

Although I use therapeutic approaches best suited for each client, I generally draw most heavily from psychodynamic psychotherapy. My primary healing focus is not on techniques or methods, however. My primary focus is on you—my client.

In one-on-one and in group psychotherapy sessions, I can help adults with

  • treatment of depression, anxiety, and stress
  • recovery from grief and loss
  • life transitions
  • incorporation of spiritual and religious meaning-making in the healing process
  • treatment of unresolved psychological trauma
  • development of important abilities for relating with others, including the ability to recognize and understand one’s own thoughts and feelings and those of others
  • development of mindfulness practices and techniques for stress reduction.

Individual Psychotherapy

In one-on-one psychotherapy sessions, I work with my client to design and utilize an effective, personalized plan for his or her improved health and well-being. Earning my client’s trust is the first stepping stone of a successful therapeutic relationship.

Group Psychotherapy

Through interactions and feedback in small group sessions (8-10 people), I guide group participants in a process of learning from and with each other. Participants, in and through the group process, can benefit by gaining new insights and strategies for achieving their personal goals.

Group formation is determined by sufficient interest and commonality among individuals’ goals. I will ask to meet with each interested person for a pre-group screening in order to be sure that the group will meet that person’s needs and to determine if the person feels that he or she can work effectively with me.

Group Facilitator: Dr. Ileana Lindstrom
